How We Work

We try to keep our process as simple as possible.

Drawings

In the first instance we need drawings so that we can understand your project aims. These can either be 2D drawings, or a 3D model (see below for preferred file types). If your project is less well developed then we have an in-house draughting service, and our draughtsman can work with you to produce the necessary drawings.

File types and general drawing guidance.

2D drawings should be as clean as possible, with shapes to be cut “closed”, different cuts saved on separate layers, and each part named. Our preferred file types are DWG, DXF, EPS or PDF.

3D models should also be as clean as possible, with each part named. Our preferred files types are DWG, DXF, OBJ, SLDPRT, or another solid model file. We would prefer not to use STL files as we find they import with numerous errors and invariably need redraughting.

If you have any questions about file types please call us to discuss; we are happy to provide guidance.

Quote & Cut

We will then quote based on your requirements. Assuming the project goes ahead, we will order the necessary materials (although you are welcome to supply your own), and start cutting. We aim to cut within 5-7 working days of receiving the materials. Finally, the cut components are packaged for delivery or collection by you.

Let’s create something extraordinary together

If you have, or think you have a requirement for CNC machining services, then feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements.

We have experience in working with a wide range of materials, and will work with you to determine the best for your project.

We regularly cut all types of plywood, hardwoods, MR or veneered MDFs, laminates, plastics, aluminium composite materials, as well as more specialised products such as insulation foam, modelling board, and aluminium.

Our basic pricing structure is £45/hour for draughting services (this includes the necessary draughting to generate the cutting files), and £70/hour for 3 axis cutting. Laser cutting and 3D printing costs are project-dependent.
